| ALERT ALERTThe LG battery that was in my wife's Verizon cellphone shorted out and became EXTREMELY HOT TO THE TOUCH and causing other items in the purse to get HOT. The battery is an LG Lithium Ion 3.7v 1000mAh, part number of LGIP-520B We contacted Verizon and I put a report into the Consumer Product Safety Commision website. I couldn't find anything online about this problem with this battery. |

| Phone 'did not kill' South Korean A South Korean man initially thought to have been killed by an exploding mobile phone battery was in fact crushed by a quarry vehicle, police have said. The man was found dead on Wednesday with a melted battery in his pocket and his heart and lungs punctured. But police in Cheongju said a colleague later confessed that he had backed into the victim while reversing a construction vehicle. They said the colleague had tried to cover up the accident.
